Bridget Emmerson
Clinical Lead | Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner | Mentor
Bachelor of Communications (Advertising), Graduate Diploma of Psychology & Master of Counselling.
Throughout her career, Bridget has supported people with a wide range of needs, including Acquired Brain Injury, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Hearing and Vision Impairments, Intellectual and Physical Disabilities, Dementia, Parkinson’s Disease, Anxiety and Mood Disorders, Personality Disorders, Eating Disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Substance Use or Addiction-related challenges.
Bridget is an Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner whose work bridges clinical excellence with strategic leadership. Across national NDIS providers, she has led teams to deliver trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and evidence-based practice that upholds the dignity and safety of every participant.
“I don’t do this work to tick boxes or manage behaviour. I do it because every person deserves to be understood and supported in a way that honours who they are. Behaviour support isn’t about controling someone, it’s about creating space for people to grow, communicate, and feel safe in their own world. My role is to listen, to question what’s not working, and to help shape systems that serve people better… not the other way around.”
With a background spanning psychology, counselling and creative leadership, Bridget brings a rare balance of clinical insight and human connection. She mentors practitioners and guides organisations to move beyond compliance; building systems that foster reflection, innovation, and genuine person-centred care.
Along with working as an Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner in Melbourne, her other passion is cultivating capability within teams, strengthening governance frameworks, and translating complex behavioural science into accessible, practical support for practitioners, families, and participants.
Service Location & Travel
Bridget is a Behaviour Support Practitioner based in central Melbourne and provides community-based support across surrounding areas. Standard NDIS travel allocation covers up to a 30-minute drive to and from her office location (1 hour to and from in total).
That said, every person’s situation is unique and Bridget is always open to discussing flexible options, alternative arrangements, or creative ways to stay connected and provide support, depending on someone’s location and needs.
